so even a gold req 8 near perfect 12>50 sundering 9/10 fortitude 28 shadow bow won't be worth anything?
Bah. One dropped in FoW for me the other day and was hoping to offload it.

why in the hell can't Anet at least make them look different from eachother. My collector flatbow, longbow & shortbow all look the same The only way to distinguish between them is to use different mods as a reminder.
|
imo that's kinda the point of collector weapons... to look plain and all the same... but still have great stats... if u want a bow that looks great... u have to be willing to fork over the gold

Yeah, she confirmed that one of them has armor penetration. That doesn't necessarily mean it's this one. I heard some theories that it was another kind somewhere, can't remember which one though.

Whats wrong with em?

slow re-fire rate is pretty much what's wrong with them. they look similar to the ivory bows, and for some reason i think those are still popular....no idea why.
that's pretty much it. i think they're teh secks, but that's my opinion.

Agreed. I don't have a problem with them being plain looking - I would just like them to look different from eachother. Maybe the shortbow could just be a shorter version of the Ascalon. Even if they just made the name different - like 'Ascalon Flatbow', etc.

"I once was told by a player during a transaction conversation that when GW came out, there was +15% unconditional bows. No -negative factors what so ever. Apparently these got nerfed ASAP. Is this true? Are these bows still out there in the posssesion of some lucky players?"
I know I have seen pics of other weapons with this perfect mod on guru before, not sure if I have ever seen a bow with this type of stat. I would guess that since there were other weapons such as this at one time - that these bows once existed too.

Shmash - you don't have sufficient rank to ask such questions Just noticed you didn't ask the question anyway - doh!
That's what I have heard too. People are still selling them apparently, though it could be a scam I guess. I often see 'bow - 15% all the time' in the trade channel, though I couldn't afford one - so I've never seen one myself.

Most people when they say 15% all the time mean 15% with some sort of penalty, like -5 Energy, -1 Health Regen, or -10 armor while attacking.
But yeah, there are pictures of items with damage mods and no negatives. I wouldn't expect to ever see them sold in game, they have to be insanely rare and valuable.

Yes, I have a few collector bows, it's tought o remember which is which. It would help if they were named by the bow type.

It's the refire rate, it just totally ruins the bow. 2.7 second maybe seems like few, but it reduces the dmg pretty badly compared to a 2.0 seconds bow
15-28/2.0 = 7.5-14.0 Damage per second
15-28/2.7 = 5.5-10.3 Damage per second
And this is only the base damage, combining this with skills (Ignite Arrows etc.) would only make it worse. This bow is just a no no, sine the 10% AP isn't that great either.
And about the Collector's (Ascalon) bows. I actually love them. I love to switch weapons, and still have the same look. Don't ask me why, I just do And it doesn't matter when it comes to damage at all, so why not?

Isn't it the hornbow? I remember reading it somewhere around these forums that the hornbow already have the penetration. I think it was in strategy forum.

well... i would hope it's the hornbow class that does have the initial 10% AP... if it isn't... why the hell would ANeT make such a crappy bow? :P

Major/Superior Runes seem to be very unpopular, too high penalties for reward?
